The Jangaon town was constituted in to a Municipality in the year 1953 as III Grade Municipality under AP Municipal Act 1965 and at present it is in the status of II Grade Municipality. It is a Mandal Headquarters of Warangal District. The main economic activity of the Jangaon town is commercial.
The Jangaon Town was constituted as 3rd Grade Municipality in the year 1953 and upgraded as a 2nd grade Municipality in the year 2010 functioned its duties properly. The population of Town as per 2001 Census 43,996 and as per 2011 Census 52,408 and devided into 28 election wards. The Town is covered by 17.49 Sq. Kms. Situated in National highway No.202 leads from Hyderabad to Warangal having railway station on the line from Secunderabad to Vijayawada and New Delhi. There are so many industries, Colleges and infrastructure facilities besides many technical training centres. The town is having with all kinds of Major and Minor business like Rice mills, Oil mills, Agriculture market committee, Central ware house and all departmental offices at Divisional level. The town is centrally located between Hyderabad, Hanamkonda, Suryapet to Siddipet and Karimnagar etc.
